In this Research Spotlight video, we team up with Dr Claire Earlie from Cardiff University, to learn about the recent discovery of how sea-cliffs sway during storms, revealing previously unknown ways in which the sea acts on the coastline. insta topsy.oneMeet Alyssa Glace, an Undergraduate in Psychology and Research Assistant. We’d like to spotlight Alyssa as a member of the awesome, interdisciplinary Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence research team at VCU.

Alyssa is interested in gender differences in recovery from sexual and domestic violence, and how the differences might affect treatment outcomes. In addition, she is interested in examining sexual and domestic violence rates and recovery within LGBT populations. Alyssa would also like to study the role of spirituality in recovery from sexual and domestic violence.

Alyssa, The Red Flag Campaign would like to thank you for being a star scholar in addition to your contribution to sexual assault and domestic violence research! Meet Dr. Rowena L. Briones (@rlbriones) an Assistant Professor of Public Relations at Richard T. Robertson School of Media & Culture. Dr. Briones conducts research on the use of social media and technology for digital activism purposes. In addition to exploring how different nonprofits have used social media to draw more attention to their mission and causes, Dr. Briones is currently working on developing strategies for using social media in bystander interventions and sexual assault/domestic violence victim outreach. For the past two years she has been a member of VCU’s Institute for Women’s Health Intimate Partner Violence/Sexual Assault Research Development Workgroup, where her research team won the Building Interdisciplinary Bridges in Women’s Health Research Award at VCU’s Women’s Health Research Day. This detail of a larger image shows a close-up of deltoids and bright dune-like features with steep upwind faces and irregular downwind tails, corrugated ridge crests, and horizontal layering. These features all suggest that the deposits built up vertically over time from dust and sand carried across the surface by horizontal winds. Image Credit: @nasajpl, @uarizona
